Tendering Engineer

Job description / Role

- Sika UAE are looking for a dynamic and sales oriented Technical Engineer to support their successful local specification and sales team.

- With a successful track record in a similar environment you will be responsible for developing relationships with key personnel, working with local clients to ensure that Sika to develop an effective program of tender submissions.

- You will hold a Civil/Architectural Engineering degree or similar

- You will have 3+ years experience working in a GCC market.

Prime Objective:

To develop the companys efforts on the tendering stage of the new projects.

Purpose:

To effectively fill the gap between the Companys specification activities and the time where the Project is awarded to the main contractor for construction.

Key Tasks:

To establish contacts with the tendering departments of our main customers in the market, by visiting, obtaining acceptance and fetching new tendering projects specifications.

To closely liaise and coordinate with the Co.s specification manager, to be updated on the projects where our systems are specified.

To gather information for the market data sources about the new projects out for tender, identify all bidders for the project, obtain a copy of the projects specifications

To prepare and submit the commercial quotations for all bidders to cover Sikas potential systems as per the projects specs

To maintain a project file where all specifications, bidders list, our proposed systems and quotations, and the tenders closing date.

To follow up the tenders to identify the lowest bidder and to then forward all the tender file to the sales engineer responsible for the lowest bidding contractor.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- Degree of Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineers

- Professional English language skills (Written, spoken and Comprehension)

Experience:

- 3 years experience in the construction in the UAE

- Tendering experience is an advantage

Preferable Skills and Qualifications:

- Ability to comprehend the projects specifications.

- Ability to comprehend and recommend Sikas systems according to projects specs.

- Active, self-motivated and results oriented personality.
