Test Delivery Manager – 6 month contract – Hong Kong

This major international company who are one of the biggest employers in Hong Kong are recruiting through Gulf Connexions HK for a Test Delivery Manager. This position is a 6 month contract paying an excellent daily rate.

Purpose:

To manage the quality outcome of application and infrastructure development; ensure the deliverables meet the business’ requirements with no serious defects.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Oversee and lead the development of testing strategies, skills and capabilities into all testing phases of the program portfolio, including the support and coordination of any testing provided by other business units and program portfolios.
• Develop overall test strategy and test estimates for the program portfolio and plan the testing effort and strategy required for each application/project based on the development approach and timeline.

Job Description:

• Suggest test process improvements based on incident trends.
• Devise options for achieving targets when progress is not as intended.
• Contribute to the development of the Enterprise Testing Practice in company.
• Collaborate with other IM domains to drive business and technology innovation.
• Maintain strong relationships with participating teams to ensure effective engagement practices.
• Lead and develop a skilled, motivated and cohesive team by providing effective direction, coaching and motivation.
• Provide expertise on Software Quality Assurance to the application development, support and maintenance teams.
• Manage project and release interdependencies to ensure Project Managers are fully informed of testing issues and options.
• Directly and through influencing team leadership, ensure the testing service testing methodology is used appropriately in all releases.
• Work with the Project Managers and Development Managers to continue to develop and improve the testing capabilities to increase value returned through projects.
• Measure and monitor progress using established processes to ensure that the testing phases are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed level of quality.
• Produce or coordinate production, review and sign-off test deliverables – test approach/ strategy, master test plan, test environment request, test execution schedule, test case, traceability matrices and test summary report as appropriate.
• Monitor and control tests being performed on all projects under the responsible program portfolio; producing test reports of progress against time and quality, defects severity, distribution and priority rating, impact assessments, trends over the project etc.

• Decisions relating to Quality Assurance and Test Plan.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications (profile):
• B.Sc. in Computer Sciences with certifications like MCSE/CISCO, ideally with Professional Certification in Microsoft Products.
• A minimum of 15 years of IT experience with at least 10 years in managing large complex business systems in enterprise testing domain. Experience in the management of significant Information Technology projects is essential.
• Ability to attain results, convey a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure, persists despite obstacles and opposition, sets high standards of performance and pursues challenging goals.
• Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics.
• Focus on the end user’s or customer’s needs; ability to set expectations and understand end user behaviour.
• Proven experience in managing large team of technology professionals.
• Good knowledge of industry best test practice.
