Trading Executive in Petrochemical Commodities

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Procure petrochemical materials such as sulphur, methanol and fiber Intermediates (including PX,
PTA, MEG and PET) through supplier development.

Add value by exercising embedded commercial and logistical deal options and by a pro-active approach to problem solving.

Seek to generate joint ventures to produce petrochemical products which are competitive in terms of price and quality. Provide proposal and action plan of sourcing petrochemical products including necessary investments in facilities.

Enhance and maintain good relationships with counterparties, suppliers and partners.

Develop business plans and strategies to increase market shares.

Arrange for the effective transportation and distribution methods;

Conduct market research and monitor key competitors activities.

Participate in out-of-hours coverage arrangements.

Requirements

Degree in Refining and Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 6 years relevant purchasing experience with a proven record in petrochemical industry.

Prior experience in handling procurement or trading of petrochemical materials such as sulphur, ethanol and fiber Intermediates will be an added advantage.

Must have good supplier contact portfolio in the Middle East market.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Good understanding of energy markets and related derivatives markets.
Good negotiation and networking skills.
