Job description / Role
The Logistics Officer will be required to handle and oversee all logistical matters including supplies, transportation and ensures that key supplies will be delivered to the proper destinations. The logistics officers will be directly reporting to the General Manager.
Main responsibilities includes:
1. Analyze Logistical problems and resolving them.
2. Ensure that accurate and complete reporting and internal control systems are functioning according to standards and that Letters of Credit are handled and maintained.
3. Handle insurance matters.
4. Control the order cycle and manage vessel nominations and logistics operations.
5. Inspect, analyze and verify cargo content.
6. Coordinate and settle agreements with customers and suppliers.
7. Issuing letters of credit to suppliers.
8. Receiving incoming letters of credit from buyers and requesting amendments for the same.
9. Issuance and verifying documents for presentation under incoming letters of credit.
10. Appointment of inspectors to take samples of purchased cargo and verifying quantifies
delivered.
Requirements
1. Should have a minimum of 2 years experience in handling letters of credits.
2. Should have good command of English.
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
4. Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
