Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To develop an integrated training plan for Omantel and deliver training programs that meet the needs of the business. This includes design, development, delivery and evaluation of training programs and sourcing of external vendors for key programs; and tracking the effect of the training on the performance.

Functional (Process/Technical/Operational):
• Conducts training needs analysis across the business
• Develops an integrated training plan for Omantel which incorporates mandatory, technical, behavioral, leadership and induction programs
• Prepares training budgets and report actual against plan.
• Monitors training costs for the purpose of ensuring services are provided in compliance with department and Omantel budget objectives and guidelines.
• Creates a training calendar by appropriate scheduling of courses
• Guides, supervises and provides support in design and development of course content for courses
• Supervises, evaluates and validates quality of content of all training programs to ensure alignment with business requirements and desired development plans
• Evaluates costs and appropriate training intervention
• Vendor selection and management
• Designs, develops and delivers courses internally as needed. Include delivering individual trainings for employees, as requested, (e.g. IDP, variety of resources, including performance requirements, etc.) for the purpose of supporting supervisor-directed employee growth plans in compliance with department and Omantel outcomes.
• Collaborates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintains training records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with training requirements and established guidelines and insure that the records are excusable for the team.
Customer:
• All line departments and Employees.
Financial:
• Ensure adherence to operating budget for Training and Development department
People:
• Sets training unit targets and objectives
• Monitors and manages performance of direct reports
• Conducts performance appraisals accurately objectively and consistently for all direct reports in a timely manner
• Manages the team on a daily basis including resolving issues and maintaining high motivation levels within the team
• Develops talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets
Measurable Deliverables:
• Monitor and prepare monthly and quarterly training budget updates.
• Delivery of training strategies, targets and initiatives
• Training programs delivered on time
• Critical skill attainment
• Training man days spent per employee
• Negative variance from the training budget

Requirements

Technical/ Behavioral/ Language Skills:
• Good knowledge of global best practices in area of Human Resources
• Good knowledge of learning and development growth processes.
• Good computer skills.
• Able to multi-task
• Able to manage own work and work independently
• Be able to interact and consult effectively with management and employees
• Has effective Management and Leadership skills
• Has skills required to evaluate and analyze business objectives in order to identify requirements related to Company’s learning and development
• Good communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and team working
• Good planning, organizing and time management skills
• Should be a change agent/champion.
• Should have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• Fluent in English and Arabic
Education/ experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience in a Training function
• 2 years in a leadership role
