Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To provide accurate and timely translation/interpreting services to QG departments/staff in accordance with applicable professional standards for translation.

Responsibilities:

1.Accurately translate, edit and proofread (English<->Arabic) various types of texts (legal, financial and technical) related to QG various fields of QG activities.

2.Copy-write QG Arabic press releases, media statements and other QG publications in coordination with the Public Relations department.

3.Draft, edit and format in Arabic all official correspondence and reports between CEO office, other QG departments, ministries, public and private companies and governmental bodies.

4.Maintain and develop a glossary of Arabic/English Oil and Gas terminology and answers queries from various QG employees regarding the meaning of the Arabic equivalent of specialized technical English terms.

5.Collect, update and translate all Qatari and GCC laws and regulations related to the business of QG and publish them on the intranet for access by all concerned QG employees.

6.Assists in translating, updating and maintaining All QG employees' business titles (bilingual).

Ensure the quality of work originating from external bureaus employed occasionally to cope with peak work load is accurate.

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Translation and/or Linguistics
•Minimum 7 years, including at least 3 years' experience in the Oil/Gas
•Experience in legal and financial translation
•Experience in press translation
•Proficient in written and spoken English & Arabic (including high- quality grammar, structure, spelling, pronunciation, punctuation, vocabulary and comprehension skills).
•Computer literacy in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
•Familiar with computer aided-translation tools such as Trados and Word fast)
