Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complete transmission network fault and performance analysis on access, BH and core layer of the network
- Responsible to segregation of problems on different layers of transmission network
- Identification of correct fault owners like field operation teams, Power teams and Transmission planning team
- Responsible for devising the solutions for all the related problems to Transmission operation teams
- Follow-up for the faults related to other departments for early resolution of the problem
- Responsible for evaluating new plans and providing feedback to the planning team for plan enhancement where required.
- Responsible for studying, understanding and communicating details of High Level & Low Level Designs to team members.
- Responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures to guide lower level staff in completing routing tasks.

Network maintenance:
- Drafting the annual maintenance schedule for preventative maintenance for the entire network
- Drafting detailed daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and bi-annual routine maintenance works
- Ensuring that the maintenance schedule is adhered to
- Ensuring timeous corrective maintenance by assigning tasks and supervision of work undertaken

Network analysis:
- Supervise the extraction and processing of network statistics and their distribution
- Analyze network performance through statistics
- Diagnosing of network problems, suggestion of solutions and delegating to appropriate staff to attend to identified problem
- Recommend to TR network planning for any further tests that may be necessary to improve the quality of the network
- Allocate engineers to carry out database configurations on requests from roll-out, vendors, TR network planning and optimization

Staff supervision:
- Coordinate weekly meetings with staff for discussion of progress on tasks and air any challenges being faced
- Undertake administrative supervisory functions which are: monitoring of attendance, overtime work and vehicle usage
- Supervision of tasks to ensure that tasks are completed timeously and that objectives are met
- Allocation of base stations for monitoring to individual staff
- Ensure health and safety precautions are adhered to by staff when executing their duties.

Network reports:
- Receive, compile and review monthly KPI reports for network performance for forwarding to HQ
- Receive, compile and review monthly KPIs for input in the dashboard accounts
- Receive, compile and review monthly network outage reports and forwarding to superiors
- Receive, compile and review monthly network configuration report and forwarding to all stakeholders.
- Receive, compile and review monthly indicative revenue per site report and forwarding to superiors

Technical Requirement:
- Should have hands on experience on well-known MW short haul product ( NEC, Huawei, Ericsson ,ALU and NSN)
- Should have hands on experience on Long MW product of NEC ,NSN ,ALU and Ericsson
- Should have hands on experience of configuration management via NMS of all the well know MW vendors
- Should have hands on experience on DWDM equipments of Huawei
- Should have hands on experience on Huawei OSN series product for configuration management
- Must be familiar with all the process of implementing change request/work orders
- Should be familiar with all the new technologies in transmission domain
- Must be aware of all the protection schemes ( SNCP,MSP,PP,ERPS,LAG etc)
- Must be familiar with all the flows of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Must be familiar with 3G transmission network
- Possess working knowledge of IP and Ethernet transport technologies (E-LINE, ELAN, EIGRP/OSPF, sub-netting, VLANs, QoS)
- Must be familiar with DCN solutions in transmission network.
- Must be familiar with network synchronization.

Coordination with third parties and planning team:
- First line interaction with property owners for sites and communication to relevant department of any challenges faced during site access for maintenance purposes.
- Coordination with other section/venders for project implementation, and network optimization.
- Coordination with suppliers/vendors on maintenance service level agreements
- Undertaking interdepartmental coordination on projects, site acceptance, network optimization and maintenance

Requirements

- Required experience should be more than 10 years
- Should be holding the position of either Team lead or Transmission Operation Manager for at least 5 years
- Preferably should have worked in both Vendor and Operator Environment
