The RoleThe RoleAl-Futtaim Logistics is a leading Supply Chain Management company in Dubai, UAE, with our major shareholder being one of the largest business houses in the lower Gulf region. Al-Futtaim logistics, started as a small warehouse for Al-Futtaim products about 25 years ago, and has developed over the years into one of the largest logistics service providers in the UAE. We have nearly 500 people on our diverse team from 20 different countries. We offer superior pan-Arab supply chain management solutions including warehousing and distribution, freight forwarding as well as IT solutions and Supply Chain Design and Consulting. The company has an international network of offices and agents for overseas freight and warehousing and distribution centres in all major UAE cities and ports. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to work from our Jebel Ali based operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager and leading a team of 55 Heavy Vehicle Drivers, you will be responsible for planning and organizing all movements of Automotive stock units to and from all UAE sites. Your main duties and responsibilities will include: Ensuring maximum fleet efficiency with effective route planning and load factors Controlling Drivers' Trip Allowance, Overtime, fleet running costs and fuel consumption Maximizing SAP in all day to day transport planning activities to maintain system integrity Having a clear understanding of customer lead times and required KPI's, with commensurate execution Ensuring maximum fleet utilization and manpower resource control Identifying areas requiring improvement; develop plans to rectify shortfalls and implement accordingly In conjunction with QA Team, reducing accidents and damage across the supply chain, paying particular attention to new units delivered by Car-Carrier and Road Traffic Accidents with Heavy Vehicles Carrying out regular Toolbox Training with Heavy Vehicle Drivers to maintain a high standard of vehicle handling and driving standards |
