The RoleThe RoleAl-Futtaim Logistics is a leading Supply Chain Management company in Dubai, UAE, with our major shareholder being one of the largest business houses in the lower Gulf region. Al-Futtaim logistics, started as a small warehouse for Al-Futtaim products about 25 years ago, and has developed over the years into one of the largest logistics service providers in the UAE. We have nearly 500 people on our diverse team from 20 different countries. We offer superior pan-Arab supply chain management solutions including warehousing and distribution, freight forwarding as well as IT solutions and Supply Chain Design and Consulting. The company has an international network of offices and agents for overseas freight and warehousing and distribution centres in all major UAE cities and ports. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to work from our Jebel Ali based operations. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for planning and organizing all movements of our General Transport Division (mainly comprising of containers, Tautliner and LCL movements).The role includes resource and job allocation planning, scheduling, operation analysis, record keeping, route planning, etc. Your main duties and responsibilities will include: * Responsible for the efficient and effective planning & performance of the Transport operations, with particular focus on Container Movements and Staff Transport * Proactively co-ordinate with Customers, Transport Sub-contractors and internal depts to ensure communication of relevant plans and issues is clear and timeous * Daily communication with internal customers and processing the requests thereof * Resource planning, including management of Drivers and vehicles * Assigning daily tasks to and managing the performance & tasks of, the Administration Assistant * Maximising the use of SAP for load & route planning, and including LPO creation & invoice generation * Recording of monthly container movements or other trips for billing purposes * Ensuring that the highest level of professionalism is maintained through the use of SLA's, KPI's and SOP's * Analysis of trip information, fleet efficiency and vehicle running costs and the optimisation thereof * Ensuring that the Container Tracking report is kept right up to date and accurate * Recommend areas of improvement within General Transport operations * Shift work will be necessary |
RequirementsRequirementsTo apply for this role you should have the following skills, experiences and qualifications: * Graduate in any discipline * Minimum 3 years experience in Transport Operations * Result orientated, with decision making and problem solving abilities * Report generation experience with MS Office skills * High level logical thinking and planning ability * Good communicator at all levels |
