The RoleThe RoleThe Transportation Coordinator reports to the Infrastructure Coordinator and will be responsible for planning and coordinating the traffic management on the site, including truck traffic, bus traffic for labor movement (both for the resident and non-resident workers), other vehicular traffic, RORO jetty transport operations and traffic signage and control. The Transportation Coordinator will plan for changes in Access Roads required to accommodate infrastructure and development work. He will ensure that scope documents are produced, tender packages or work orders are issued as required to ensure that road changes are implemented, and that changes are documented by advance issue of updated road maps. He will function in close coordination with the Traffic Control Manager to ensure that roads and all required ancillaries (signage, road delineators, barriers, etc.) are adequate and maintained. He will work with other logistics coordinators as well as the logistics managers for the Contractors and Developers to ensure a free and smooth flow of traffic on the Island. He will assist with analysis of traffic and manpower forecasts from the Contractors and will be responsible for maintaining the Traffic Management Plan. Duties and Responsibilities: • Plan for changes in Access Roads as required by on-going infrastructure and development work, ensure that scope documents are produced, road changes are implemented, and that changes are documented by advance issue of updated road maps. Coordinate with Traffic Control Manager to ensure that adequate road signage is procured and installed and that road maintenance is performed as required to ensure safe and functional roads are available to all developments. • Compile monthly report metrics as required to assist in development of the Monthly Reports. • Take minutes of meetings when required, circulate them expeditiously, incorporate comments, and issue them on schedule. • Perform other duties as requested by the Infrastructure Manager or the Logistics Manager. |
RequirementsRequirements• Communication skills: The applicant should have good communication skills and be fluent in English. He must have the confidence to speak to members of the client team, Contractor’s representatives and government officials. • Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel. • Degree: A technical degree is required, preferably in Civil Engineering • Initiative: Must have required initiative and poise to deal with client requests and the various On-site contractors, and accurately relay the requests to appropriate members of the Logistics team. • Middle-East work experience is a must. |
