The RoleThe RoleSupports the Design Management Group in performing transportation-related design reviews and conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses. Reviews, coordinates and monitors the works of the design consultants, comparing roads and highway designs with specifications as requested and assigned by the Transportation Design Manager. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Responsible to manage the correct implementation of the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all transportation-related type works (both highway and pedestrian) in accordance with program of work on construction site. Key Tasks and Duties: Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses on transportation related designs. Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other roads and highway construction documents as necessary. Provides technical guidance to CAD Technicians. May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances. Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses for assigned design packages. Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other transportation-related construction documents as necessary. Supports the review and checks of highway and roads designs including BOQ checks and reviews and/or prepares responses to RFIs for assigned design and construction projects. Reviews the scope of design work according to the contract and monitors progress of design work by others. Supports the Transportation Design Manager in meeting the requirements of the contract in terms of scope, performance, quality and safety and ensure the design is in sense of the client. Supports the coordination of relevant drawings and their release for the execution of works. Supports the Transportation Design Manager in performing other tasks as deemed necessary. |
RequirementsRequirements4-year degree in Degree in Civil or equivalent technical degree, and 8 - 12 years of related work experience, GCC experience is preferred. Experience in transportation design and/or construction projects commensurate with the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects with demonstrated experience in design of highways, expressways and/or intersections. Registration as a professional engineer desirable. Proven ability to perform in a technical role, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project. |
