Job description / Role
A world leading shipping company is looking for transportation manager to be a part of their expanding team in Dubai.
1) Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation
2) Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
3) Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
4) Serve as contact persons for all workers within assigned territories.
5) Implement schedule and policy changes.
6) Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
7) Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
8) Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
9) Develop criteria, application instructions, procedural manuals, and contracts for federal and state public transportation programs.
Requirements
5 to 7 years of experience in Shipping Industry
1) Transportation -- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
2) Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
3) Administration and Management -- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
4) Clerical -- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
