The Role


The Role


The primary duties of this position include supervising transportation planning consultants in the analysis of existing and future land use activities in Qatar and providing transportation planning impact analysis for existing and future land use activities in Qatar.

Duties will also include:
Collecting and analyzing project related data which may include research, traffic surveys, map reviews, land use surveys, socio-economic analysis, field investigations, etc;

Assimilating and managing data;

Preparing constraints mapping;

Preparing required documents such as environmental assessments, environmental impact studies and other technical reports;

Working with macro and micro transportation models to make them user friendly for staff needs in identifying impacts of current and proposed land uses.

Requirements


Requirements


The candidate must have experience with transportation planning and design, computer models and transportation impact analysis.

The candidate must be a team player and be willing to work in a cross cultural setting.

The candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills.

The candidate must have at least 10 years of work experience as Transportation Planner for a large international consulting firm or public agency.

Education: Masters in Civil Engineering with Transportation from a recognized university and an undergraduate degree in urban studies or planning and architecture.

UPDA is currently hiring planners to oversee and review consultants works in their preparation of the Master Plan for Qatar and assist the planning implementation process for the Master Plan.
