Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk Management - Auditor

Job description / Role

Purpose:

Function as a Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk Management Auditor focused on Risk Oversight.

Key role will be follows:

To deliver efficient Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk audits under the guidance of the Senior Manager Audit- Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk Management and Head of Internal Audit.
To review the Banks Treasury & Investment portfolios in a manner that will accomplish the Departments core objectives of providing assurance on the control environment and to review adequacy of related Risk Management processes.


Duties and Responsibilities:

a) Ensures that Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk audit engagements are performed in a systematic, disciplined approach and with proficiency and due professional care.

b) Ensures an effective on-going monitoring to identify Counter-party, Market, Liquidity & Operational risk issues on a pro-active basis & suggest corrective steps.

c) Ensures adequacy and effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes in relation to Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk units of the bank. Alerts the Senior Manager Audit & the Head of Internal Audit to the significant risks that might affect achievement of organizational objectives or portfolio quality.

d) Reviews the portfolio quality of the Treasury & Investments, and reviews the adequacy of Finance & Risk management processes of the Bank. Keeps the Senior Manager Audit & the Head of Internal Audit abreast of trends in portfolio quality and risk profile.


e) Performs audits of Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk according to plan. Ensure that audit assignments are completed within agreed time lines in accordance with quality standards. Prepares the draft report. Attends opening and closing conferences.

f) Evaluates the adequacy of the Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk management processes including portfolio planning, risk approval process, risk recognition, and other related controls.

g) Evaluates the organizational set-up, staffing, management and reporting lines of the Treasury, Investments, Finance and Risk Management Divisions.

h) Reviews the Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk policy of the Bank for appropriateness.

i) Reviews compliance with the Banks Treasury, Investments, Finance & Risk policy and procedures, Central Bank instructions and other pertinent laws and regulations.

j) Maintains an up-to-date awareness of the latest techniques and professional audit standards.

k) Perform any other duties or responsibilities consistent with the role as assigned by the Internal Audit management.

Requirements

Education:
Graduate in a business related field, preferably Finance & Accounting or Economics
Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas:
Internationally recognized accounting /business qualification like ACA or equivalent qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or MBA.
Internationally recognized internal audit qualification like CIA or CMIIA.

Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years experience either in internal/external audits of banks with Big 4 accountancy practices.
Knowledge of risk models, score cards and risk management techniques.
