Employment: Full Time

The Tunnel Operations Specialist is responsible for the quality and technical delivery of the Tunnel Operations on the Tunnel and Corridor. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and may involve travel to all regions to ensure successful delivery of the role.

The Tunnels Operations Specialist is responsible as an Operation Specialist and technical leader for consistency, quality and technical excellence on the Tunnel and Corridor whilst ensuring innovation and efficiency by developing and sharing best practice.

A key element of this role is to act as Tunnel Operations Specialist, liaising with Project Manager and other discipline leads to ensure successful Operation, Maintenance ,design management and project delivery/completion within agreed timescales and budgets.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Ensure projects undertaken in line with Mouchel policy on all SHEQ matters.
2. Responsible for the successful Technical and Financial delivery of the project.
3. The development and training of identified Mouchel and Client staff by the ensuring continuous improvement and mentoring of all staff.
4. The delivery of high quality Tunnel Operation services, demonstrating continuous improvement, to the measurable satisfaction of clients.
5. Drive innovation and efficiency across the Tunnel team
6. Demonstrate leadership, management, motivation and development of staff to improve their performance and achieve their potential, including clear succession planning.
7. Support Mouchel Middle East in business planning, financial control and commercial/risk management.
8. Working with the wider MME to ensure suitable and adequate resources are available for the provision of services including recruitment where appropriate.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- To be a chartered / incorporated member (or equivalent) of a relevant professional institution.
- MSc in Transportation Engineering or in a relevant Field. 10 years min experience tunnel experience a must. BSc alternative is acceptable but with min of 15 years experience

Knowledge / Experience:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Tunnel Operation design standards and procedures.
- Proven track record in the delivery of Tunnel Operation projects from a design perspective and delivery in accordance with budgetary constraints.
- Demonstrable experience of providing leadership, guidance, training and mentoring of staff.

Technical Skills / Ability:
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work on own initiative on technical and business matters
- Excellent understanding of Tunnel Operation etc.
- Work with, delegate and utilize the skills of others to maximize the delivery and efficiency of the team.
- Mentor, support and technically develop junior staff.
