Utilities Manager

Our Middle East Transport Division is looking to recruit a Design Engineer - Utilities for a major highway project in Qatar.

- Utilities based in Doha for a major highway project
- Must be willing to co-locate in client's office in design
- Execution of managing engineering design works within budget and schedule
- Help Lead and manage technical design processes on multi-disciplinary project
- Identify the need for engineering inputs and solutions during all phases of design development and project implementation
- Review technical reports, tender documents, bill of quantities, evaluate technical bids & reviews vendor/third party documents
- Co-ordination with other disciplines and to manage resolve engineering issues during design development, review and check processes
- Liaison with stakeholders, authorities, service providers and consultants for approvals and permitting
- To ensure design packages meet the relevant health, safety and environmental standards
- Discussions with support engineers and designers regularly on scope, man-hours and schedule
- Participate in technical reviews and progress review of projects
- Familiarise and implement the Company procedures and international standards & codes.

Requirements

- must be qualified with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- minimum fifteen (15) years post graduate experience in design and coordination of Utilities in major projects - minimum 3 years working experience in the Gulf Region
- experience in managing detailed design delivery of utilities/infrastructure development projects
- previous work experience with engineering consultancy
- demonstrated experience in preparing specifications and contract documents for wet utilities
- experienced in preparation of reports for feasibility, concept engineering studies
- knowledge about standards/best practice for utility systems
- have sound technical knowledge of utilities and able to advise aspects of other disciplines that may impact on utilities issues
- ability to integrate into multi-disciplinary projects and to provide technical and managerial inputs
- must be conversant with tender and design packages, tender documents and preparation of design reports.
