The RoleThe RoleMain Duties & Responsibility: • Efficiently manage, control and motivate all maintenance personnel to ensure optimal availability of all production and services equipment and maintained to define standard in a safe and hygienic manner within the agreed budget levels for manpower and materials. • Full responsibility for the work carried out by his subordinates. • Plan and implement requisite training in order to ensure continued development of all maintenance personnel. DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Motivate maintenance personnel, assessing and reviewing performance on a regular basis. • Provide reports and feedback of production and services maintenance activities to Senior Maintenance Engineer. • Coordinate area maintenance activity, ensuring that fair personnel practises are in place and minimum cover is provided at all times during production. • Oversee planned preventative maintenance system ensuring adherence to agreed work schedules. • Attend meetings/briefings with the Engineering Manager. • Conduct regular inspections to maintain agreed standards of work, enforcing hygiene and quality regulations and initiating disciplinary procedures as necessary. • Conduct regular safety audits to highlight and eradicate defective equipment and unsafe practices of work. • Assist in the implementation of quality assurance by providing services as necessary. • Liaise with production and quality personnel to ensure that all parameters are achieved and maintained. • Research and implement methods that reduce cost and improve plant performance. • Maintain required standard of housekeeping in designated area. • Maintain personal hygiene standards. • He/she accepts responsibilities and agrees to work extended hours if required, which includes rest days and public holidays. |
RequirementsRequirementsMinimum Skills Knowledge & Experience • Minimum 5 years experience in a management position within the Dairy/Food industry. • In-depth working knowledge of Dairy/Food process equipment and associated services. • In-depth working knowledge of implementing planned preventative maintenance systems. • Good leadership and communication skills. • Ability to train personnel and provide direction. • Ability to solve operational problems timeously. • Sufficient communication skills. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements • Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. • Supplementary qualification in Instrumentation. • Medically fit. |
