Utility / MEP Engineer

Job description / Role

- Plans and coordinates all on-site MEP activities to comply with applicable contract documents, specifications, requirements and codes.
- Establishes all measures to ensure quality control requirements are met and recommends acceptance or rejection of all work in process as well as completed work items in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
- Assists in the review and processing of MEP shop drawings and other submittals.
- Process Request for Information & approval (RFI & RFA) and change order requests through appropriate parties on a timely basis to ensure the prompt flow of information & approvals.
- Coordinate MEP drawings to ensure all systems work within space constraints and code and keep current and accurate drawings and construction changes to ensure that accurate as built documents are prepared & provided to the client.
- Closely liaison & interface with other section engineers to ensure smooth sequencing of MEP works.
- Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements and to ensure all MEP materials received on the project site are in compliance with contract documents and approved submittals.
- Implement and enforce safety program and practices to create a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or as required for successful project completion.
- Working knowledge of the works and methods related of the utilities work like weigh station, radar system, traffic signaling, road lighting & electrical installations like removals, relocation & protection of existing utilities and liaison with various authorities & sub-contractors.
- Management of completed works, preparation of necessary documentation and handover to the concerned authority.
- Testing and commissioning

Requirements

- Professional MEP Engineer having extensive work experience of at least 3 years in GCC out of a total of 7 to 10 years mainly in road and bridges construction sector dealing with utility works management, liaison with various authorities, procurement and etc.
