The Role


The Role


Accountable for:

Reviewing and recommending the Credit/portfolio strategies of the Region
Reviewing and assessing retail credit requests received from CIB ensuring that the regional (and / or industry and/or group and/or programs credit guidelines and credit strategy is properly reflected by credit procedures and practices and is aligned to the related SBU strategy
Managing the regional delinquent portfolio of the Bank

Key Roles:

* Contribute to the preparation/review of credit policy and strategy documents
* Review and evaluate credit requests submitted for credit committee approval by regional CIB (and/or industry and/or group and/or Credit programs and exceptions by RBG and PBG)
* Ensure that credit request packages/programs are in line with set strategy, policies and guidelines
* Analyze credit requests and review proposed facilities structure
* Review/identify risks, mitigants and exit strategies and ensure their appropriateness
* Ensure “know-your-customer” policy is systematically applied
* Evaluate the Bank’s exposure is in line with set credit policy (concentration, risk rating, segment etc.)
* Ensure the integrity and quality of data and data analysis
* Validate risk rating and ensure appropriateness of pricing as compared to risk
* Participate in relevant credit committee(s)
* Perform regional and/or industry and/or SBU/segment portfolio reviews and communicate findings to all relevant parties and take appropriate actions as and when needed
* Maximize recovery on problem loans through recommending restructuring and
liquidation options within set/established cost/loss guidelines
* Recommend and obtain approval for remedial credit extensions or action plans

Job Requirements :

Education: University degree from a recognized university
Experience: min. 10 years of experience in credit AND in line functions covering Middle-East countries in an international /leading regional bank preferably with exposure to sectors (oil &gas , real estate, telecom, ..etc)
Competencies:
Fluent in English (Arabic preferred)
Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
Solid communication and presentation skills
Proven analytical and modeling skills and thorough understanding of financial statements
Excellent understanding and mastery of leading edge lending practices
Ability to deliver results against tight deadlines
Good interpersonal skills
