The RoleThe RoleVP IT Strategy required for a large financial institution based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. • Lead the effort to the create/review the IT strategy and ensure its alignment with the bank business strategy • Lead the effort to create IT annual plan, IT capacity plan and budget • Lead the effort to create/define/monitor IT performance measures • Lead the effort to identify and prepare IT internal and external reporting requirements • Lead the effort to create IT resource plan including the preparation of skill matrix, staff development and rotation plans • Lead the effort and consolidate IT deliverables and achievements in addition to budget monitoring and control • Lead the effort to Identify and formalize IT processes , policies and procedures • Lead the effort to manage IT risks and maintain a risk registry • Lead the effort to create IT quality measures based on best practices and implement the agreed standards • Manage relation with the other bank departments and subsidiaries in order to assess and plan their IT needs and requirements • Perform coaching and mentoring to the IT governance and strategy staff and prepare the second line of staff as per the succession plan • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as well as self development • Any other task assigned by the Line Manager. Candidates should be fluent in Arabic and English, however some exceptions can be made dependent upon the skill set and experience. The role offers generous tax free package. |
RequirementsRequirements• IT governance frameworks • Quality management strategies and policies • The purpose of IT strategies, policies, standards, and procedures for an organization and the essential elements of each • Organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities related to the use and management of IT • Generally accepted international IT standards and guidelines Knowledge of the processes for the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT strategies, policies, standards, and procedures (e.g., protection of information assets, business continuity and disaster recovery, systems and infrastructure lifecycle management, IT service delivery and support) • Enterprise IT architecture and its implications for setting long-term strategic directions • IT resource investment and allocation practices (e.g., portfolio management return on investment [ROI]) • Risk management methodologies and tools • Use of control frameworks (e.g., CobiT, ITIL) • The use of maturity and process improvement models (e.g., CMM, CobiT) • The contracting strategies, processes, and contract management practices • Practices for monitoring and reporting of IT performance (e.g., balanced score cards, key performance indicators [KPI]) • Relevant legislative and regulatory issues (e.g., privacy, intellectual property, corporate governance requirements) • Professional qualification in Computer Science. • Very specific knowledge of banking related computer systems and operations. • Attendance of a general management, people management and change management courses. • Good co-ordination skills for resolution of problems that arise from time to time. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. • Managerial skills to lead & control a sizable team of staff. • Good communication and inter-personal skills. • Sound knowledge of Banking Law and Practices. |
