VP / Product Specialist - DCM

Our Client is a leading bank in the Middle East and is currently looking for a MENA DCM Investment Banker to join their DCM department - Investment Banking Division. It will include coverage of Government, Quasi-government, Financial Institutions and Corporate Clients primarily in GCC, Saudi Arabia, MENA region.

The candidate will report to the Head of Debt Capital Markets and will be expected to be actively involved in business planning and strategy. It is intended that considerable delegated authority will be given to the candidate to lead transactions through to closing. The role will require a significant of marketing related travel.

The Key Responsibilities can be highlighted as follows:

Market Our Clients DCM capability internally and externally with clients and market participants to secure Lead Manager and Book Runner roles in new issues in the primary markets
Identify business opportunities independently and in conjunction with relationship management team.
Build and develop direct client coverage relationships at senior levels (Treasurer / CFO)
Preparation of offering circulars, pitch books and client presentations with responsibility for the development DCMs marketing materials and strategy
Assist in the continuous development of Our Clients DCMs investor base and leverage market insight to assist in pitching for mandates and sourcing private placement opportunities
Build product expertise for debt capital markets products including provision of ancillary services such as ratings advisory
Maintain up to date awareness of competitor activity, market trends and market knowledge economic/political factors that affect the DCM market

Act as deal team leader after deal origination:
Structure bond/sukuk issues, including convertibles and asset backed cash flow backed transactions work with shariah compliant banking team / external counsel as required.
Lead documentation, prospectus, structuring and regulatory approvals processes
Arrange and coordinate bank syndicates and assist the due diligence process for transactions (coordination with legal, market, technical and other consultants)
Submit appropriate proposals and credit memos to Credit Committee as required
Actively participate in the syndication and pricing processes including responsibility for the primary sales and distribution processes
Ensure the maintenance of accurate and complete records of communications with clients, syndicate members, lawyers for audit and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience Requirements for all applicants:

6-10 years in investment banking positions with demonstrated experience in DCM Origination and/or syndicate with proven ability to build and develop client relationships, win new business, close transactions and develop networks, both internally and externally
Preferred experience in the GCC/MENA region with established client relationships
Should have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and should be a good negotiator
Strong commercial judgment and influencing skills with track record of managing cross cultural environments and mentoring junior staff
Result driven, hands on, dynamic with ability to work under sales oriented environment
Strong project management and analytical skills
Understanding of and working with financial models and strong understanding of credit and key credit metrics
Experienced user of Bloomberg, MS Excel, Powerpoint & Word
Holder of University Degree or an MBA from a top-tier university
Proven knowledge of capital market procedures generally with specific knowledge of GCC/emerging markets a plus
Excellent communication skills in English, Arabic language skills beneficial
