Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

GENERAL
Provide support in leadership to KEC in all aspects of facilities design and technology to ensure that KEC facilities meet the highest safety and technical standards
Work with the Head Office (HO) facilities engineering team to achieve results in a safe and environmentally sound manner
Put in place and manage facilities engineering standards and processes that ensure that the safety and technical aspects of all facilities projects in KEC are of the highest level

HSESR
Ensure adherence to KEC rules and regulations regarding HSESR
Ensure safe working practices and conditions
Ensure compliance with all KEC and other environmental regulations, policies and standards
Participate in incident investigations and implementation of corrective measures as required

QUALITY
Encourage commitment to quality from all employees and contractors working on facilities projects
Ensure quality indicators are in all contracts and performance is evaluated based on these
TECHNICAL
Ensure that the performed work is technically sound and viable
Communicate with KEC senior management to ensure that the performed work meets their expectations
Utilize in-house and (when required) external expertise to improve the technical quality of the performed work and ensure deadlines are met
Utilize, where appropriate, new technology to achieve improved results and/or cost savings
Control and supervise facilities programs, AFEs and plans for facilities projects

PLANNING & CONTROL
Assist project teams in preparing short and long term work plans and in managing the execution process, with suitable tracking mechanisms
Through periodical controls, ensure that progress is in line with the project schedule and the generated work meets expectations
Ensure compliance with Contract terms and conditions

PERSONNEL & TRAINING
Promote operations culture, behavior and teamwork
Set project and individual objectives for reporting personnel
Review performance of reporting personnel at regular intervals
Ensure sufficient qualified resources are available
Ensure reporting personnel are aware of and comply with the relevant policies & procedures
Promote and ensure adequate training for self and reporting personnel

FINANCIAL
Provide cost projections and estimates for the activities related to the operations
Monitor the progress of the constructions and ultimately operations of the facilities

REPORTING
Prepare and submit reports regarding work performance, HSESR and costs as required
Track the performance of projects by using suitable KPIs and benchmarking against other local operators.

Requirements

Minimum Academic Qualifications
1. BSc or Masters Degree or equivalent in engineering.

Required Technical Competencies
1. Thorough understanding of facilities engineering techniques and methodologies
2. Thorough understanding of facilities operations and maintenance.
3. Significant expertise in leading facilities engineering teams, directing technical work and in planning and executing facilities projects
4. Expertise in project management.

Required Generic Competencies
1. Fluent in English, written and oral is essential.
2. Strong leadership skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and help contribute to an environment that fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and continuous learning.
4. Strong communication and influencing skills
5. Adaptability to different cultures and perspectives
6. Strong teamwork and meeting facilitation skills

Minimum Work Experience
1. At least 15 years of facilities engineering experience (operator/consulting/service company experience)
2. Proven experience and expertise in leading facilities teams, directing technical work and in planning and executing facilities projects
3. Proven experience in promoting and managing a strong HSESR culture in building and operating oil and gas facilities
