The Role


Position Overview:

Performs advanced, complex engineering assignments using convention or innovative engineering techniques and analyses related to the Vacuum Waste system design and construction. The Vacuum Waste Engineer Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the Vacuum Waste System pipe network, receptacles, and collection areas, and other design engineering issues, providing the expertise related to the Vacuum Waste System design and construction and performing reviews/assessments to facilitate resolution of RFIs and other issues that may impact the project and/or construction.

This position is a senior-level position that will support various construction packages throughout the site. At this level the candidate is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices and has experience performing similar engineering services. Some assignments may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. This position reports to the Project Management Director and will provide the interface between the Design Consultant, the Contractor and the Project Management Team in matters related to the Vacuum Waste System design and construction.

Key tasks and duties:

Following up complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately in relation to the Vacuum Waste System design and construction.
Coordinates with all other related technical sections and departments to resolve issues and report to senior management including contractual issues.
Provides the expertise for all technical aspects associated with Vacuum Waste System scope including construction and installation processes.
Coordinates and manages interfaces between the various Construction Packages and follows up in interface or other issues, specifically related to the Vacuum Waste System.
Supports the contract preparation, tender process and implementation as necessary.
Attends and contributes to regular project meetings and provides input to reports as required including projected budget and time-frame as specifically related to the Vacuum Waste System.
Provides technical guidance and technical expertise to others on the project as related to the Vacuum Waste System.
Must be fully aware of the project specifications, drawings and design criteria required for the Vacuum Waste System.

Qualifications:

A 4-year degree (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent technical field with 10+ years of related experience.
Must have experience in similar waste collection system design and construction or similar systems involving large pipe networks, odor control, and other mechanical features. Experience in the GCC is preferred.
Experience in the construction of infrastructure projects is highly preferred, with knowledge and experience in design of large scale infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to perform in a key technical role, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.
In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
