Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To carry out site surveys and provide reports and recommendations and carry out duties with regards to the monitoring and control of all pests which could contaminate or damage goods,foodstuffs and or otherwise render buildings and sites uninhabitable deeming them unfit for purpose due to infestations of insects, birds and vermin.

• Ensure the cost effective functions of all materials, assets Pest Control equipment.
• Supervise and assist in all staff training.
• Distribute and account for job cards.
• Be able to compile written reports in conjunction with the technicians.
• To adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety rules and policies.
• Collate and account for staff time sheets, materials and record information.
• Provide accurate information for monthly reports.
• Appoint and oversee all daily work for Pest Control Technicians & Assistants
• Conduct and perform other essential tasks as determined by line management
• Supervision of spraying or dusting chemical solutions, powders or gases.
• Ensure all work is carried out as per manufactures instructions and specifications.
• Liaise with technicians to discuss day to day operational requirements, achievement and improvements and take necessary action accordingly.
• Inspect premises & locations in order to identify infestation source and extent of the damage to the property, advice clients on corrective measures needed.
• Supervise staff in the treatment & extermination process to eliminate and control of rodents and insects.
• Study preliminary reports and diagrams of infested areas and determine corrective actions and treatment process.
• Monitor material stock levels and re-order as necessary.
• To assist the staff where needed to ensure all problems are dealt with professionally and report problems in a proactive manner.
• Discuss and report to the Line Manager any Systems or procedures which may be beneficial to our operation.
• Behave and conduct work in a professional manner at all times.
• Work in tandem with the Camp Service Supervisor and all other co- workers.
• Develop and maintain good working relationship with the clients.
• Handle all complaints/suggestions from clients with positive attitude and with sincerity and promptness. Discuss all complaints/suggestions with immediate superior to determine remedial action to be taken.
• Attend regular meeting (Tool Box Talks) with other staff, share mutual concerns, work practises, improvement plans and to communicate company’s policies, standards objectives.
• Supervise in setting Mechanical Traps and placing poisonous bait in Ditches or Burrows.
• Ensure that all accidents and damages are reported to Line Management immediately and ensure the correct actions and procedures are followed.
• Adhere to the QHSE rules and regulations.
• Use correct PPE for task and ensure it is maintained in good condition.
• Ensure staff use the correct equipment for the task at all times, and have been inducted where necessary.
• Ensure that all Chemical Solutions and Powders are stored/ transported correctly at all times, in accordance with COSHH Regulations

Requirements

• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Experienced PC user, familiar with MS Office applications.
• Ability to compile daily reports and update registers.
• Have experience in preparing for Audits and Monthly Checks.
• Proven ability to manage and control a team or small group of people
• Proven ability in working with Pesticides & Chemicals including their interactions, danger signs, and disposal methods.
• Have experience in the methods of capturing & disposing of pests.
• Knowledge and previous experience with fogging machine, pest control equipment and their designs. Able to repair & maintain the pest control machines and equipment.
• Needs to be familiar with the makeup and habitat of Pests & Insects, including basic names and types.
• Good Understanding of Health & Safety, Safety Data Sheet, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and be highly reliable and well organized.
• Hold a full in date and valid driving licence.
• Willing to learn and prepared to study, and attend training courses

• Ability to work in an international, dynamic and multicultural environment based in remote regions.
• Trained in first aid and hold a valid certificate.
• Ability to deliver training, and develop staff
• Ability to compile and understand staff appraisals
