The Role


The Role


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Providing assistance and support to the Legal Counsel in Al Khobar and to all areas of the Bank including (but not limited to):
Review, prepare and negotiate contracts between the Bank and third parties (mainly governed by Saudi Law); common types of contracts including loan agreements, multi-option facility agreements, guarantees, bank undertakings, Intercreditor arrangements, foreign exchange agreements, sub-participation agreements, repos, derivative contracts, Islamic financing agreements, software license agreements, outsourcing agreements and operational documents.
Researching and advising on the relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions in which the organization operates
Reviewing Arabic documents, translating the documents into English, responding in Arabic
Representing the Bank before the various courts and government departments in Saudi Arabia (including but not limited to Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Negotiable Instruments Committee, Labour Courts and the Banking Settlement Disputes Committee).
Assisting the relevant departments in ensuring that the policies of the Bank are complied with.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

A law degree and not less than 5-10 years experience in the finance practice of a leading law firm or in a financial institution.
Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic skills.
An ability to effectively deal with all levels of the Bank, including senior management.
An ability to work under pressure, so as to meet transactional deadlines.
An ability to comprehend and analyze financial transactions.
A comprehensive knowledge of banking transactions and documentation.
