Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Strategic planning & policy formulation:
- Lead the livestock department strategic planning process in consultation with Senior Managers of Breeder, Hatchery and Broiler farms
- Translate the strategic game plan into annual business plan and budget for the Livestock department
- Contribute to strategy formulation and execution at the SBU level
- Formulate and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, protocols and policies for effective functioning of the livestock department.

Achieving Supply Chain Adequacy:
- Direct the livestock operations to ensure meeting production goals, including throughput, productivity, cost, and quality.
- Formulate initiatives to increase the in-house production capacity for livestock and to reduce dependency on contract farms.
- Coordinate with Senior Managers of breeder, broiler and hatcheries to bring out process improvements in the operations.
- Actively challenge and try to minimize the overall cost of operation for farms to ensure live chicken at optimal cost to PPP.
- Direct the design of an efficient maintenance system to minimize the downtime for farm operations.
- Plan, budget and direct capacity expansion plans for livestock department in line with the capacity expansions plans of demand driving departments (PPP and Sales and Marketing).
- Coordinate with external consultants and poultry experts and gather key inputs to maximize quality of produce (average live chicken weight, profiles, health etc.) and to minimize mortality and other losses.
- Design initiatives to maximize on time demand fulfillment to internal customers by ensuring coordination between the various farms.

Resource Allocation & Manpower management:
- Prepare a manpower plan in line with the overall plan for the year.
- Actively engage in recruiting, training and allocating resources to the sub departments within Livestock.
- Plan and manage resource requirements and utilization according to agreed budgets. Ensure adequate manpower to suit departments strategy.
- Assess the requirement for training systems for live stock team and implement relevant training systems.
- Establish employee goals and conduct employee incentive reviews.
- Conceptualize and develop safety policies and procedures to ensure safety during operations.

Quality, Hygiene & safety:
- Ensure that the live stock team adheres to all hygiene and safety standards.
- Devise and approve quality management processes with the help of Quality Assurance team.

Reporting
- Report as per agreed frequency on BSC (SMART) using relevant performance measures.
- Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the live stock department.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Poultry Management.
- 12 years experience in poultry farm operations, with about 4 years experience in managerial roles in K.S.A. or MENA region.

Job specific Skills:
- Strong understanding of the poultry farm operations.
- Strong understanding of the KSA poultry market.

Generic Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office ( MS-Excel, MS- PowerPoint , MS- Word and MS - Outlook)
- Working knowledge of Arabic and English languages.
