Job description / Role
Our client is one of the regions larger diverse Real Estate developers with a focus on residential and hospitality types of projects. They are currently looking to recruit a VP of Projects to oversee a 1,800 acres residential development in Dubai.
Reporting into the Chairman your main objective will be to support the Chairman on all technical matters and coordinate with various technical heads and external agencies in matters relating to design, development, projects, delivery and technology.
As the most senior person in Project Development, you will be the focal point between the Chairman, Contractors and internal stakeholders.
You will be the technical link between the Chairman and the functional heads and will therefore belong to the 'best in class' genre to be able to play a leadership role while dealing with other functional heads on behalf of the Chairman. You will need to be closely updated on the status of various projects and promptly bring to the attention of the Chairman, any delays and issues that could not be resolved without top management intervention. You will also be expected to be not just a technical head but one which combines top technical knowledge with acute commercial acumen.
This is a crucial role as you will be a key member of the Chairman's team, where you will interact closely with the top and senior management team and will have the task of implementing several directives from the Chairman and therefore you must have excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. A high degree of energy and alertness is a prerequisite for the job. He is expected to deliver very high levels of output with top quality.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold a Civil Engineering University degree with a minimum of 25 years of experience within the engineering industry such as construction, contracting or infrastructure development, of which at least 10 years within a leadership role.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be an innovative entrepreneur who is capable of managing multiple project simultaneously whilst supporting senior management on new developments / projects.
