Warehouse Manager

Job description / Role

POSITION PURPOSE
Oversee the warehouse operation and the reporting employees so that they receive and coordinate the inbound / outbound movement of all received / dispatch shipments within the warehouse, within set parameters as dictated within the process of logistics & supply chain and customs law & procedure.
Supervise the materials management processes within a specific facility. Ensure that all legislation, policies and procedures regarding receiving, dispatching, inventory and material returns are implemented in his / her area of responsibility. Utilise all resources optimally and minimise the risk of the specific facility. Build positive relationships with internal & external clients and third parties.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/FUNCTIONS TASKS:

* Execute the day to day operations in the warehouse effectively.
* Organize all activities & assign jobs accordingly for staff.
* Fully understand current SOP and implement as required.
* Plan, organize and control of warehouse’s over-all operations.
* Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
* Understand company objectives and set targets accordingly.
* Ensuring the proper staff, uniforms, vehicles and materials are in place in order to execute work.
* Order and maintain necessary supplies as required so that there are no service delays.
* Closely works with BOC representative and sends to him monthly reports on stock
* Performance management and improvement systems.
* Assuring that all necessary certifications and technical knowledge or licenses are valid and maintained.
* Ensuring the warehouse complies with local laws and regulations.
* Oversee and ensure high safety, security and standards at all times.
* Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
* Review the On Hand report on a daily basis, making sure no cargo will go bad / be stale.
* Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
* Maintain good “housekeeping” of the facility.
* Follow and maintain a warehouse maintenance program.
* Have the demonstrated ability to work in a pro actively diverse and inclusive organization.
* Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
* Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
* Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
* Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
MS Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
University Degree preferred.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Minimum of 2-years experience in logistics or Warehouse Management
* Vendor Relationship Management skills.
* General supervisory skills.
* Ability to quickly react to operational issues, within the confines of the guidelines set Management.
* Ability to handle people and deal with breakdowns in communications and policies.
* Able to communicate at random with various levels of management.
* Demonstrate the capability to change directions based on the demands of the operational environment (employees not showing up, containers not arriving).
