Job description / Role
A. Purpose and Scope
The Warehouse Supervisor manages the day-to-day operation and provides effective supervision to ensure that the products are delivered to Hamac wholesale customers and retail stores on time and in an efficient manner.
Reports to: Logistics Manager
B. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Undertake and oversee all stock related tasks and issues such as stock taking, order distribution, receiving incoming freight, stock locations, bar coding and stock transfers. This also includes reporting damaged incoming deliveries and reconciling freight invoices
• Plan and organize all inbound shipments to ensure that container details match the invoice, and the container is sealed properly before offloading.
• Maintain consistent quality control of stock and order packing in order to minimize transit and limit stock returns
• Design the storing of goods in the warehouse in a proper manner according to reference number, brand name, etc…, ensuring that stocks are bar-coded.
• Lead by example and set a high level of productivity and customer services that is sustainable for all staff members
• Manage a team of warehouse operatives to achieve service and operational excellence
• Manage warehouse KPI’s in order to ensure targets are met
• Monitor safe work practices and adhere to safety measures by ensuring health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment and staff
• Manage and implement the warehouse rosters and ensure the warehouse is appropriately staffed in order to meet workload demands
• Preparation and reconciliation of regular reports, stock movement, dispatches.
• Plan of peak periods to ensure the warehouse and staff are ready to ensure fast, effective turnaround on all orders.
• Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and surrounding areas by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repairs.
• Deal with customers by email, fax and telephone using a professional manner.
• Maintain a service focus in all tasks completed within the warehouse operations
Requirements
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written
• 3 to 5 years of previous warehousing & distribution experience, preferably last role being a supervisor, storekeeper, or team leader.
• In-bound and Outbound experience
• Previous experience supervising a team.
