The RoleThe Role1- Supervises. Plans and co-ordinates the activities of assigned personnel in the Materials Operations area. Includes allocation and prioritizing of work programs, and providing guidance with regards to warehouse operations, ensuring that all goods are received, stored and dispatched according to purchase orders and requisitions, so as to ensure a cost effective and timely service to internal and external customers. 2- Supervises and controls the receipt, issue and storage of all spare parts, materials and equipment in the correct quantities, quality and condition as requisitioned, in accordance with established procedures and standards. 3- Develops and maintains an end to end Bar-coding system, covering the whole supply chain. 4- Ensures that appropriate housekeeping is maintained to safeguard warehouse inventory stocks against any losses or damage. 5- Develops and motivates personnel (with emphasis on Qatari nationals) to ensure the function is staffed with individuals of the required caliber and that there is adequate succession planning and provision for future demands. Identifies training needs, assists in development of training programs, with a strong focus on the SAP system, and carries out staff appraisals. 6- Establishes and maintains good relationships with vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors for the incorporation of good materials warehousing practices. 7- Ensure that all materials received are properly inspected prior to acceptance; ensuring that specifications are confirmed with the Materials Standardize so that all accepted materials are as per contract specifications. 8- Plans and implements the best Quality Management concepts in line with ISO 9000 Series protocol. 9- Responsibility to ensure all activities concerning movement of hazardous materials are carried out in a safe manner and that storage is arranged in accordance with agreed materials segregation plan. 10- Assists in the preparation of the department’s budget by providing input about warehousing costs and needs. 11- Encourages continuous improvement initiatives at the warehouse through regular reviews of warehouse operations and feedback from warehouse employees about ways and means to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. 12- Ensure adherence to all SHERQ policies, procedures and standards to safeguard company personnel and assets. 13- Takes adequate precautions to ensure inventory value is safeguarded; is held ultimately responsible in case of losses or damage to inventory. 14- Keeps abreast of latest international developments in materials management systems, procedures and technologies for the possible benefit of the company. 15- Conducts regular facility safety inspections of Warehouse operations and equipment Regular external contacts with vendors, suppliers, contractors and consultants, primarily to keep abreast of materials warehousing best practice. |
RequirementsRequirements- Higher Technical Diploma or equivalent - Ten Years experience in a warehousing environment with at least three years the Chief Storekeeper level; preferably in the Oil & Gas sector. - Good adaptability to multinational environments, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs. - Extensive experience in dealing with vendors, suppliers and contractors in the Oil & Gas sector. - Computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint …etc.) and materials management and reporting systems software, with knowledge of SAP an advantage. - Excellent written and oral English skills. - Leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member. |
