The RoleThe RoleThe Web Application development Specialist will be involved in the development of Internet /Intranet Portals, Manage Live Websites, and develop online systems and applications. You will poses advanced analytical and application development skills. You will Design, develop and manage ODC websites, all web applications and interfaces; Advise and develop relevant web related methodologies, internet /Intranet portals for ODC on request The developer is also required to conduct feasibility studies, gather business requirements, prepare functional specifications, identify and agree business process and providing remedial action when required. The position will be based in Duqm, our project site. The individual should have at least 6 years of experience in the field of Web Development / Portal development and systems /Application development, Support, liaising /handholding etc. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • To develop Website /Portal applications in accordance with the project scope and business process, producing all relevant documentation. • Responsible for designing, developing, Content management, integration testing, documentation and implementation of current /new solutions under the direction of manager /Systems Analyst. • Reviewing, updating and maintenance of ODC website and all official web applications & Interfaces • To substantively contribute to SharePoint and web development methodology to achieve the optimal applications capability, development productivity, maintainability and performance. • Successful review and redevelopment of existing website (internet/intranet) • Ensure interfaces are fully developed to allow authenticated external access (from internet) to corporate applications access for staff via corporate websites implemented. • Monitor web server and site technical performance, conduct testing and report results • Provide maintenance and deliverance of training for “web page custodians” in updating their related area of the web site. (Content Management) • Provide computer programming support for web development for ODC when required • Training are prepared and delivered for staff and participants of ODC as needed • General IT assistance is provided when required. • Performs other related duties as assigned. |
RequirementsRequirementsKEY REQUIREMENTS: He /She must have the following skills:- • Strong experience in a Windows /Unix environment • Essential Skills include: - Development and maintenance of Web-Based Applications - Development and Maintenance of Intranet /Internet Portal • Should have working knowledge of live portals that are currently in operation • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience, with emphasis on web development and management • Demonstrated ability in website design and development/management, software and general computer programming as well as; Demonstrated knowledge of accepted and emerging web and internet concepts EDUCATION: • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. |
