We have an opportunity in the Middle East Region for a Muscat based Wells H&S Advisor.

Health & Safety Advisors reporting through and providing leadership in embedded H&S teams within the regional production performance unit (RPU).

Accountabilities include:

*Supporting line operations in overseeing the safety and well being (Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene) of the GWO workforce and monitoring the effectiveness of the supporting HSSE processes and systems including application at wells sites.

Key Responsibilities include:

*Coach leadership in driving safe, healthy, secure & environmentally responsible operations

*Contribute to the formulation of the annual Safety and Operational Risk Operating Plan through identification and assessment of risks, performance delivery and performance improvement opportunities

*Provide sufficient resources to manage HSSE risks and deliver performance improvement

*Contribute to defining the required HSSE competencies and training for direct reports.

*Assist in the development of and conduct H&S training

*Monitor workforce understanding & implementation of HSSE regulatory & BP requirements and local procedures & practices

*Share and incorporate internal and external learnings

*Ensure goods, equipment & services provided by suppliers, contractors & other parties meet contractual & BP requirements. Participate in the development of bridging documents.

*Participate in assigned investigations to determine immediate & system causes of incidents and corrective actions. Close-out personally assigned actions on time.

*Develop & maintain HSSE Emergency Response capability.

*Perform Health and Safety assessments to assure compliance and drive risk reduction & performance improvement

Requirements

*Supervisory experience in HSE / Operations line role

*Experience acting as a lead investigator

*Experience leading risk assessments

*Team player - able and capable to inspire colleagues in cross-cultural situations.

*A high degree of interpersonal and persuasive skills and proven ability to work unsupervised.

*Demonstrable training, coaching and presentation skills.

*Ability to communicate clearly and authoritatively on HSE matters.

*Ability to proactively look for unidentified risks, in addition to addressing the more obvious risk areas.

*Must be experienced in planning, developing, organizing and carrying out all types HSSE programs with a track record of delivery and driving tasks to completion.

*High proficiency in both Arabic and English languages.

*Ability to travel internationally for extended periods of time.

*In depth understanding of bridging documentation development and implementation.
