Job description / Role
Reports to the Logistics Manager (or Construction Manager in his absence) for programme logistics management and Workers Welfare issues in particular
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deputise for the EXW Logistics Manager when necessary
- Leads on Workers Welfare related issues, EXW Workers Welfare champion
- Liaise with external agencies and be aware of the Qatar legal requirements for Workers Welfare, incorporate changes in the law as EXW best practice
- Develop and implement audit and monitor programmes for Workers Welfare standards.
- Support the Construction Supervisors and Contractors to resolve Workers Welfare issues
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the Supervision Consultants and Construction Contractors regarding Workers Welfare issues
- Chairs regular meetings of the Workers Welfare Forum
- Assist in the implementation of the Project Logistics Management Plan
- Maintain an awareness of general logistics issues for the EXW programme.
Requirements
- Knowledge of operational aspects of civil & infrastructure projects
- Particular experience of the design, build and operation of Workers Accommodation and the delivery of welfare related services especially on a large scale and/or on multiple locations
- Knowledge of volume catering operations a distinct advantage with experience of ISO22000 and hands on implementation of HACCP principles
- Experience of supervising and managing consultants and contractors
10 years post graduate or 10 years relevant experience (for non graduates)
- BSc or HND in related subject or equivalent relevant experience
- A relevant IOSH/NEBOSH qualification
- ISO auditor qualification and experience an advantage
- User of MS Office
- Fluency in English language both written and spoken
