Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the Production Manager, the main duties of this role will be as follow:
- Workshop & Plant Manager for our UAE Yard/Workshop and Qatar Yard/Workshop
- Based in UAE (Abu Dhabi) with regular (weekly) visits in Qatar
- Organize and supervise the entire activities related to the equipment mobilized on the site, including the assembly and the commissioning of these, their launching from one position to the next, their relocation, their day to day maintenance operations and their final demobilization after completion of the works.
- Insure that all resources such as spare parts, equipment, plant are available on time to insuring smooth operation with no down time.
- Coordinate and anticipate with the Production Manager all technical issues to be addressed prior to the site activities to insure smooth progress of the works.
- Repair of equipment in workshop , intervention on site upon request.
- Management: Supervises daily operation of the chief mechanicals, mechanicals, electricians, welders, helpers...
- HR: Coordinates with Production Manager for general HR topics such as new employments, attendance records/timesheets, and external labour arrangement.
- Transportation: Coordinates with his team transportations as well as abroad shipments by air/sea/road freight. Is in close relation with transportation companies and forwarders.
- Equipment: prepares documents and keeps proper records of equipment purchase/disposal/rental. Supervises the data input regarding internal plant movement between sites. Ensure Plant Department vehicles' licences are updated. Coordinates with his team external plant rental for Plant Department/jobsites use.
- Warehouse: Supervises team daily work, including proper storage/movements of spare parts. Supervises team works regarding proper record keeping in the system of all spare parts in/out/stock quantity.
- Purchase: Supervises purchase works for subcontractors/spare parts/workshop consumables and coordinate with Accounts/Finance Department to follow-up on payments.
- Workshop: Supervises records keeping in the system of all repair works done in the workshop.
- Report any non-conformance, problems, and delays to the Production Manager for onwards treatment.
- Promote safety during the execution of the works.
- Insure that all companys interests are protected during the course of the works.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Requirements

- Experience in general site mechanic and foundation equipment.
- High diploma in mechanic with related technology training or knowledge.
- At least 5 to 10 years' working experience as Workshop / Plant Manager for foundation company or similar positions in the mechanic industry.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good command in both written and spoken English (French will be a plus)
