Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a Workshop Supervisor to be based in Qatar. You would be required to ensure repairs and maintenance planning & execution are carried out safely and efficiently to maximize availability of Ready-mix Qatar fleet by ensuring high standards of up time in addition to excellent cost management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Health and Safety

In conjunction with the Workshop Manager, ensure the Lafarge Health and Safety Management System ( HSMS ) is understood, rolled out across the workshop activities and is complied with consistently.
Implementation and management of all specific initiatives relating to health and safety management (risk assessments, safe systems of working, interactive auditing, accident/incident investigation, accurate and timely reporting ).
Together with Workshop manager, identify health and safety training requirements to ensure staff and operatives are able to undertake their duties in accordance with Lafarge HSMS standards.
Monitor the behaviour of suppliers and contractors with respect to H&S issues in the workshop area.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness of workshops vehicles and equipment to promote safe working practices.

2.Workshop Supervision

Daily supervision of workshop staff and activities in order to utilise all assets and to achieve maximum production and commercial targets.
Ensure staff carry out vehicle repair and maintenance work to pre-determined standards ensuring the workshop meets its obligations to provide a safe reliable fleet.
Complete records for all equipment maintained to ensure the efficiency and accountability of the workshop.
Obtaining feedback from sites regarding workshop related activities.
Liaising regular with company PRO to ensure insurance / License / Vehicle registration are dealt with in timely manner.
Planning and safe execution of all maintenance /parts / manpower on daily basis.
To work with the Workshop Manager to achieve key performance indicators across the business in keeping with Lafarge group guidelines.

3.Commercial / Administration

Play a key role in identifying and recruiting of operatives to ensure continued growth and performance of the business.
Liaise frequently with external contractors / suppliers to ensure the highest possible standards of service are achieved.

Requirements

Requirements:

Mechanical Engineering / Automotive qualifications with at least 5 years in a supervisory role - previous middle East Experience would be an advantage
Must have working knowledge of Health & Safety
Preferred certifications : NEBOSH / IOSH
