Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Perform technical operations required for daily functioning of the Branch including assembling hose and fittings, interacting with customers, completing associated paperwork, handling cash, making purchases and sales and inventory management as per branch requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assemble hose and fittings as per customer or branch requirements
Ensure that all products are serviceable (e.g. pressure test hoses) before use and that all items for sale are assembled in accordance with accepted procedures
Ensure paperwork is correctly completed, signed and filed
Operate as the first line contact/sales person for customers, interacting in a businesslike manner with them in person and on the phone
Pressure test hose assemblies in accordance with accepted procedures
Monitor and maintain stock levels
Ensure best and safe work practices of the quality management system are followed at all times
Maintain equipment and records for any machinery assigned to them
Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and safe condition, and all products are kept in their appropriate place
Perform additional tasks as required for the daily function of the workshop
Recording of measurements and stock usage as the jobs are carried out
Awareness of Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety aspects and ability to identify hazards/risks in the workplace
Use proper PPE’s, spares, tools, equipments and accessories to the optimum utility

Requirements

Position Qualifications:

Education & Certificates: Secondary school education
Experience Level: Previous mechanical experience (1 -10 years technical experience)

Competencies:

To be successful in the role, the employee should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

Able to communicate in written and spoken English
Good basic mechanical hand skills
Able to perform simple brazing
Knowledge of tubes and fittings i.e. BP, JIC, NPT, etc
Able to use a lathe
Able to use hand/power tools and measuring equipment safely and correctly
Able to perform simple calculations and work from written instructions
Computer literate
Ability to choose correct hose, fitting and belt options based on information given by customer
