Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role synopsis:

Under the direction of MER Security Director provide security liaison and linkages between BP and the Oman security community; i.e. Royal Oman Police Oil & Gas Unit, PDO security, and other Oman government security organizations. Represent BP's security interests in Oman and support emergency response events and incidents. Provide input, support and deliver security plan with support and guidance of MER Security Director for all assets, projects and operations.

Key accountabilities:

*Coordination of day-to-day provision of security support services for the BP Office and support in identifying security related support for ex-pats

*Assist with security Risk Assessments, and update Security information for the country

*Together with MER Security Director, ensure that security threats are being managed within appropriate guidelines and expectations and with respect to local legal obligations

*Conducts and coordinates day-to-day security operational activities

*Drive conformance with Group Security's GRP and OMS Group Essentials. With support and guidance from the ME Region Security Director ensure the Security Action plan is implemented across the business and in the field

*Lead Information Security awareness

*Coordinate and work closely with external contractors' security functions to ensure risks are known and appropriately mitigated

*Manages and maintains oversight in the use of outsourced security contractors including security guards

*Support delivery of security policies and processes, e.g. Civil Crisis Plan, Security Alerts and direct support to the BP Warden System

*Ensure that all BP Oman sites receive relevant security information

*Inform BP Oman and MER Security management of all security incidents and report in accordance with BP policies

*Support investigations as required.

*Have a basic knowledge about Digital Security and provide IT security advice to protect digital assets in conjunction with the Digital Security network

Requirements

Essential Education:

-Educated to Degree standards, preferably in a security related field such as Military/Police BA OR similar level experience

Essential experience and job requirements:

-5 years experience in security related positions; e.g. ROP, military and have good contacts in the security community

-Good level of general computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office

-This role is open for Omani nationals only
