Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

eCommerce is an exciting new support function within Alshaya as the business launches transactional websites for a number of the 70+ brands and 19 countries within the Alshaya portfolio. The function is rapidly building Alshaya's multi-channel capability to deliver customers' choice and convenience when shopping in a number of rapidly growing online emerging markets. The function is split in to 4 key areas - Trading & Merchandising, Operations & Program Management, Design & Content and Digital Marketing.

The Role:
Working within the eCommerce Division, you will be a part of the Design and Content team leading our ecommerce brands in Kuwait to effectively translate ideas into design executions whilst ensuring a consistently high level of design quality. Specific responsibilities include:

* Evaluating web design/production trends and research new technologies and tools for future site developments
* Developing design in coding languages
* Reviewing and making recommendations for change in all processes regarding the specific department to improve contribution to the business
* Producing online creative solutions from concept/initiative to delivery and implementation
* Maintaining accurate status documents to manage timelines and workload.

Requirements

* Have an understanding of web development using JavaScript/JQuery, HTML and CSS
* Good design and digital understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks
* Previous experience working within an ecommerce business support function
* Online shopping and retail experience is an advantage
* Working within a brand across regions and markets is an advantage
* Time management and organisational skills
* Able to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask.
