eCommerce Trading Manager - Mothercare - Kuwait

eCommerce is an exciting new support function within Alshaya as the business launches transactional websites for a number of the 70+ brands and 19 countries within the Alshaya portfolio. The function is rapidly building Alshaya's multi-channel capability to deliver customers' choice and convenience when shopping in a number of rapidly growing online emerging markets. The function is split in to 4 key areas - Trading & Merchandising, Operations & Program Management, Design & Content and Digital Marketing.

The Role:
The eCommerce Trading Manager is responsible for scoping, planning and managing the execution of the online channel strategy and plans for the Mothercare websites. You will operate in multiple markets and regions in order to achieve company financial and business objectives. You must also be able to provide strong and effective leadership for online channels through management of the online merchandising, marketing, design and content functions.

Key Responsibilities will include:
* Engaging in effective merchandising and trading of products online in multiple operating market(s) and regions in order to drive the success of Mothercare's online channels in the Middle East
* Development of online brand budget and commercial / trading plan and execution
* Identifying opportunities to further improve on site customer experience and conversion rates
* Maintaining up-to-date Competitor & Global Business trends knowledge
* Development of promotional and marketing plan with regional brand and marketing teams
* Leading the brand online team (Merchandising, Design, Content & Localization) to deliver world-class product presentation and merchandising of products within their specified categories.

Excellent team-building skills will be essential for this role, as you will be expected to develop strong relationships with key online team members and brand team stakeholders to achieve your budgeted sales and profitability objectives. You will also need to ensure effective digital marketing delivery in order to support the multi-channel promotion plan across all key digital channels, all the while remaining responsible for delivering sales and margin targets against budget and short term forecasts.

Requirements

* 7 years' experience in eCommerce product/category merchandising within Retail sector
* Multi-Channel retail experience
* eCommerce experience at a senior management level, including both strategy development and implementation.

The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate a nuanced understanding of competitive positioning, management of commercial processes, and maximisation of business opportunities. You will also possess and be able to display strong interpersonal and networking skills, and keen analytical and statistical ability. You should also have the desire to work in the emerging eCommerce market in the Middle East, and to be part of rapid development in the region.
