Purpose of the Job
•Deliver petrophysics (with focus on acoustic petrophysics) contribution to a wide range of high quality, business focused QI projects for the Exploration and Development Assets. The projects include for example image processing, seismic inversion, petrophysical evaluation, structural frame work analysis, seismic modeling, volume interpretation, 3D visualization.
•Contributing to a working environment where technical and operational excellence are key to success
•Coaching of less experienced (graduate) staff
•Stimulating and implementing value-adding technologies and new ways of working that lead to significant improvements in subsurface understanding and have business impact
•Providing expert petrophysical advice.
Dimensions
•The reservoir geophysics team is currently staffed with some 8 geoscientists (excluding young graduate staff) and provides a wide range of quantitative interpretation services to the E&P business in PDO.
•The team executes in the order of 20 exploration and development related reservoir geophysics projects per annum. High quality results ensure continued demand for our geophysical services.
•The job provides the opportunity for an imaginative petrophysicist who wishes to make a strong technical contribution within the reservoir geophysics team and the geophysics department
Principal Accountabilities
•Deliver petrophysical contribution to quantitative interpretation studies, such as amplitude studies, forward modeling, seismic inversion projects, 3D visualization, 4D seismic feasibility, using and updating best-practice workflows.
•Main focus will be verification and editing of acoustic logs, fluid substitution, rock property studies, conventional petrophysical evaluation, advise and design of logging programs and managing petrophysical data.
•Coaching and motivating colleagues and contributing to a team spirit that is characterized by performance, co-operation, support, openness and respect
•Promote technical and operational excellence and lateral learning
•Maintain and further develop the reputation of the reservoir characterization team
