The Role
The Role
Our client, a global investment bank is looking for a Group Compliance Officer to join its dynamic team in Bahrain. The successful candidate who reports to the Chief Executive Officer has to liaise with the bank's Risk Management Department ("RMD") and Internal Audit Department ("IAD") in order to develop, implement and administer all aspects of the bank's regulatory compliance program.
Responsibilities:
• Review draft government regulations and their impact on the bank.
• Serve as an internal counselor to staff members with questions about Bank policy.
• Participate in various audits and examinations to ensure compliance efforts are maintained.
• Monitor the implementation of the compliance policies and procedures and recommend remedial measures.
• Design and implement a comprehensive regulatory compliance program as well as overlook the bank's AML/CFT policies.

Requirements
Requirements
• A minimum of 5 years experience as head or deputy head of compliance in an investment or commercial bank in the Middle East.
• University degree in business or accounting, ideally CA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA and familiar with Basel II as well as AML/CFT regulations.
