The Role
The Role
International Financial Reporting Standards are becoming increasingly onerous and prescriptive and the successful individual would be responsible for developing statutory and regulatory reporting for the bank that complied with best in class standards.
Another key component of the role would be to ensure a robust and rigorous general ledger control framework was implemented across the organization that would ensure that all balance sheet issues were identified and reported upon in a timely manner.
The successful individual would also act as a deputy to the Financial Controller as and when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
-Statutory & regulatory reporting
-Technical accounting (IFRS, Islamic Banking etc.) lead
-General ledger control development and environment
-Develop and embed a cost centre approach and reporting techniques across the bank
-Process documentation and improvements
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
-On time, high-quality, error free statutory and regulatory returns
-Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and develop and lead on technical training across the bank
-Creation and implementation of a robust, workable general ledger control framework and appropriate and usable MIS
-Delivery of a step change in the way Finance operates with substantially more time being devoted to analysis over production
-Provide top quality support to the Financial Controller and deputize for FC as required.
