Job description / Role
The Company:
Leading diversified retail business based in Dubai with operations throughout 11 countries. As part of an internal promotion they are currently inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified Retail Buyers for a position in one of their international brands that has been operational in the Gulf for over 7 years and highly successful customer loyalty with a number of new key store locations recently opened in Dubai and the lower Gulf.
The role:
Development of annual business / buying plan according to your category
Negotiation with international partner & suppliers on range of merchandise
Develop successful assortment / range plan for each store
Finance management of your category ensuring strong sales against budget and margin
Oversee the inventory / logistics / stock delivery / control
Regular international travel to both Principals head office and international trade shows
Work on seasonal catalogues / marketing campaigns as required
Requirements
Your background:
Minimum of 2 years commercial Retail Buying experience served in a large retail company
Experience of managing a category business plan
Proven negotiation skills in dealing with suppliers
Understanding of merchandise planning function, strong analytical skills essential
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
Strong market research and ability to ensure high quality and best sellers are sold through
Any experience in managing categories like games, electronics, sporting goods, toys, exercise equipment or outdoor products well regarded
Ability to work well in a structure environment
Strong communication in English
