Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Road Safety Auditor will be responsible for conducting road safety audits, and investigating and reporting about road safety issues for clients. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Conducting road safety audits in accordance with relevant road safety audit manuals, checklists and procedures
• Undertaking in-field investigations of safety issues, including collecting data by observation, recording with camera's or using basic survey equipment
• Obtaining and analysing data, and making recommendations
• Managing sub-consultants and suppliers in the UAE and elsewhere
• Preparing professional quality project outputs, including reports and presentations, in accordance with project plans
• Preparing figures and illustrations for inclusion in reports
• Travelling within the UAE, and elsewhere, for business
• Preparing tenders
• Other tasks as required by the Regional Manager.

The Road Safety Auditor will need to be confident in contacting clients, international experts, consultants and others by telephone, e-mail and in meetings. The Road Safety Auditor's reports will be used by road network managers to improve safety for all road users, and to assist them with preparing their forward plans and budgets for road expenditure. The Road Safety Auditor must therefore be thorough and knowledgeable about road safety issues, solutions and products.

The Road Safety Auditor will need to follow ARRB company policy and procedures at all times.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL
University degree qualification relevant to road safety (engineering preferred)
Completed a recognized road safety audit training workshop
At least four years experience in road safety engineering and/or accident investigation
Completion of at least five (5) road safety audits in the last 24 months
Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
Written and spoken proficiency in English
Professional manner
Excellent time management skills
Willingness to work in a small team, to be versatile and to do whatever is required to succeed
Physical fitness to undertake field work in a very hot and humid climate
Culturally sensitive, including dressing conservatively
Drivers license recognized in Dubai, UAE

DESIRABLE, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
Written and spoken proficiency in Arabic
Experience in translating engineering/road safety documents to and from Arabic.
