New Store Development Manager – Retail

The Company:

With a long and successful history of operations in the Emirates this Dubai based diversified corporation is currently planning for considerable growth within the Middle East region over the next 5 years to include Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. Responsible for some huge international brands in fashion, footwear and F&B with a number of new franchise concepts ready to commence roll-out. With this growth in mind the customer is seeking a talented New Business / Store Development Manager who will be tasked with locating, selecting & management of all new stores.


The opportunity:

• Reporting to the Managing Director you will be tasked with identifying new retail sites for multiple brand portfolio in the Middle East
• Building on existing relationships with Mall Operators / Mall Management to further enhance positions
• Negotiation of new retail lease space and relevant terms of approval
• Build on existing and new relationships with shop fitters / contractors to ensure competitive pricing, timing and roll-out
• Preparation and management of the annual budget for space, fit outs, contractors etc.
• Involved in redevelopment of existing sites / refurbishment / store re design programs maximizing return per square metre
• Working with architects on new store concepts designs, cost of materials comparison, feasibility studies etc.
• Preparation of regular reports on progress, negotiations, leasing expiration etc.

Requirements

Your background:

• Minimum of 10 years retail experience with 3 years recent Senior Retail experience with a focus on new store development projects
• Proven understanding and ability to work with Mall Management on negotiation of new and renewal of terms on existing retail leases
• Experience of managing an aggressive store roll-out across multiple countries
• Knowledge of working with external architects / consultants on store design -- any exposure to CAD design an added bonus but not critical
• Ability to manage a budget and manage external consultants on delivery on time
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
• Preferably you will have experience of opening new stores in the Middle East region
• Sound computer skills with Microsoft products like Office, Outlook etc.
