The Role
Because of Nakheel's continued success, there are now recruiting for a number of key roles, including a Senior Transportation Planner. Your key responsibilities will be to review and assess transportation and mobility proposals and plans, focusing on the integration of multi-modal transportation. This will include both private and public transport.
In this role you will work proactively with consultants and city officials and act as a liaison on transportation related issues. This position requires you to promote ways to improve existing road and transport networks, and propose and develop plans for improving efficiency. Other duties and responsibilities include developing and reviewing transportation demand management systems in collaboration with concerned transportation authorities. As well as using computing simulation models to conduct transportation impact assessments and test transportation alternatives.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be well educated and have a B.Sc degree in civil engineering with either a Masters degree in transportation planning or more than five years relevant experience, preferably in a transportation consulting agency. Thus you should have gained good knowledge of transportation planning, technology, regulations and procedures. Experience in multimodal transportation design and demand management is desirable. This position also requires you to have strong research and analytical skills and a proven track record in solving problems. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also necessary for this exciting role, including fluent written and spoken English.
