Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

COPE OF ROLE:

Delivery of Group and Regional Management Accounting/Reporting.
Custodian of Financial Controls Policy and General Ledger in ARO.
Analysis/tracking of Africa Regional Office costs.
Timely, efficient and effective delivery of non-financial responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/CHALLENGES:

Management Reporting and Analysis:
To ensure Regional as well as Group Financial Performance and Financial Forecasting reporting process is well managed. This process includes:
Preparation and submission of PCS Management Pack for ARO.
ICS and Management Reallocations between ARO and counter partie.s
Liaison with African countries with regard to PCS deliverables within deadlines.
Preparation of ARO detailed cost MIS on a monthly basis for business and support units.
Provide financial analysis to enable business heads and cost centre managers understand their costs.
Coordination of journal processing, including review of month end position.
Maintain acceptable minimum control standards over Group Reporting in line with the Financial Controls Policy.

Financial Controls:
Ensure Financial Controls are followed and all gaps identified and closed efficiently.
Ensure that all Minimum Control Standards in the FCP manual are traceable to relevant KCSs/ KRIs.
Ensure that all ARO DOIs are updated to comply with the FCP manual.
Daily General Ledger accounts review and controls.
Prepare proofs and reconciliation of ARO balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
Monitor the number, age and nature of outstanding items in suspense and sundry accounts and ensure that they are cleared promptly.
Ensure financial controls maintained over Regional Projects are adequate and in accordance with FCP.
Coordinate the bi-annual regional submission of FCP Gap analysis to Group Finance.

Requirements

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Educational background to a degree level and professionally qualified Accountant with a solid performance track record.
Preferably experience in a similar Finance role within the Bank.
Must understand Bank¿s financial systems.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and different cultures.
Must be highly analytical with the discipline to meet deadlines.
Good judgement.
