Senior Electrical Engineer

Job description / Role

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Basic and detailed engineering of electrical power systems for a wide variety of industrial projects like Petrochemical plants, Oil & Gas plants, Petroleum Refineries, Bulk plants, Offshore Platforms and Rigs etc.
- Design and detailed engineering of medium and low voltage systems.
- Carry out basic engineering calculations, equipment sizing calculations and analysis.
- Perform electrical system study using ETAP/ EDSA/ CYME Software.
- Generate one line diagram, layouts, schedules, routings, distribution schemes, motor control schemes, inter-connection diagrams for power, lighting and grounding system.
- Check drawing and documents prepared by Designer/Draftsman for technical correctness.
- Carry out inspection and testing of various electrical equipment at manufacturer`s factory.
- Conversant with IEC, NEC, BS and IEEE codes and standards pertaining to electrical system.
- Preparation of material and engineering cost estimates for Bids.
- Carry out site survey and prepare reports.
- Preparation of RFQ, Material Purchase Requisition and Technical Evaluation of vendor’s offer.
- Interaction with Clients, Sub-Contractors and Vendors to resolve technical matters arising in the implementation and execution of Project.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. 10 years in design and detailed engineering for Oil and Gas Industry.
3. Work experience on various electrical engineering software tools and experience on testing and commissioning site are preferred.
4. Able to accept responsibility and work independently.
5. Leadership and co-ordination.
6. Have an analytical mind.
7. Have logical approach to problem solving.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
9. Willing to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
10. Physically fit.
