Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: Predominantly a sales role -- but also making 'purchases' in terms of bilateral agreements - need to gather market intelligence -- by interacting with customers in order for the Business Development Team to design products/services to address those markets and ultimately gather revenue.

Overview
• Maintain existing accounts within the region and ensure those accounts deliver maximum profit to Q-Tel by constantly seeking to build products and services to meet the needs of the region and safeguarding current business.
• Develop new business within the region by building relationships with new operators and providing to them products and services which will meet their needs and deliver profit to Q-Tel.
• Undertake strategic analysis of current regional relationships within the region to determine whether new entrants into the market should be approached and business relationships established with them.
• Within each category of product or service provided by Q-Tel, constantly updates own knowledge of developments in order to determine which products or services would maximise the potential within each of the business partners and ultimately the profitability of the account for Q-Tel.
• Introduce new Q-Tel products or services to the region which are suitable for each market.
• Ensure agreements for the majority of business are bi-lateral whereby both Q-Tel and its business partners build strong relationships.
• Deliver against the set sales and margin targets as determined by Q-Tel on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Manage the region effectively to ensure all business partners are contacted regularly and their current and future needs are addressed and the relationships strengthened.
• Undertake carrier relationship management to ensure Q-Tel's image with its carrier partners is maintained to the highest standards at all times.
• Develop strategic plans for the regional accounts aligned to the overall strategy for the International Division and implement those plans to ensure delivery of sales targets.
• Constantly develop own knowledge of the regulatory frameworks within the countries in the region to identify opportunities for Q-Tel.
• Build and maintain relationships with all regulatory bodies as well as operators in the region.
• Maintain a knowledge management system to capture all regional account/relationship data which can be made available to the Business Unit and other units within Q-Tel.
• Set up and manage a sales monitoring process to ensure tracking mechanisms are in place to monitor the effectiveness of own activity within the region, ensuring that relationship data and progress -- such as client reports etc. are captured.
• Provide reports on a monthly basis on progress within the region to Senior Management which clearly demonstrate regional activities, changes to markets and progress against sales targets.

Requirements

Minimum Entry Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in any field -- knowledge of telecom market is more important than degree relevance

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
• Minimum of 6-8 years sales experience, ideally within the international telecom environment.
• Must have international telecom knowledge.
• Must have proven capability in b-lateral agreements internationally
