Area Manager - Homewares

The Company:

Regarded as a leader in the region with an impressive portfolio of retail concepts under their "brand management". Currently with over 20 retail brands under local management through a network of stores in Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt and Saudi Arabia they are expanding at a phenomenal pace. Some of these key brands are well known international (including Australian brands) with a strong local presence. As part of continued expansion & investment in their retail division they are seeking a further Area Manager for their homewares business.


The opportunity:

• Responsible for driving your retail fashion brand through driving sales & profitability within your geographical region in the Middle East but based in Dubai
• Integral in delivering a sound business strategy / plan in order to deliver sales objectives
• Work on periodical brand review performance ensuring the sales objectives are met
• Historical & trend analysis in line with the Merchandise Buying teams ensuring product matches current & future needs
• Working with the international principal owner of the brand on brand integrity & standards ensuring the store layout, merchandising standards, promotional activities conform
• On going management of multiple stores & associated Store Managers (up to 20 stores)
• Recruitment, training, performance, visual standards & marketing initiatives are integral to this role's various tasks
• Driving exceptional customer service standards throughout your stores through effective training of sales staff
• Perform regular store audits, open new stores & ensuring a safe and happy work environment at all times
• Identify gaps in your staff & develop required training plans & follow through
• Manage & ensure the Loss Prevention Policy, systems & procedures in line with company directives

Requirements

Your background:

• Minimum of 5 years commercial Area Management or Multi Site management, recent experience with Gifts or HOMEWARES is essential for this role
• A strong business leader with a well tuned commercial eye for brand management
• Strong financial & analytical skills with intermediate computer skills like Word, Excel & POS systems
• Preferred experience is working within a larger structured national or international retailer with experience across merchandise as well as driving operations
• A Tertiary qualification is highly desirable in any discipline although not essential
• Strong & adaptable in character you possess excellent leadership qualities
• A level of patience, understanding & respect for other cultures is critical as your team will be diverse in their skill, ethnicity & origins
